MARCO LUDOVICO
My way of artisanal, personal and territorial wine
I belong to a family of winegrowers since three generations.
After my graduation in Viticulture and Oenology, I decided to do various work experiences around the world (Italy, New Zealand, Argentina). When I came back to Mottola – Terra delle Gravine – I had only one goal in my mind: to produce an artisanal wine that fully conveys the essence of this wonderful land.
The wines
I produce 7 wines in limited quantities (from 1100 to 4000 bottles for each wine). My bottles are manually labeled and numbered by hand.

The vineyards
Our vineyards are located between Gioia del Colle – Primitivo homeland – and Manduria, near Alberobello and Matera. Mottola is a suited area for viticolture.
A different wine, without rules
Winemaking
When I designed my project, I already had in my mind what would have been my way of making wine.
My goal was to convey my concepts through the wines with no compromises. The wine in the glass should have represented what the terroir gives to the vine, shunning all the invasive processes.
